Spent about a half day in this area. No one I met was finding the Little Egret, the Wilson's Phalarope, the Curlew SP or the Hudsonian Godwit. Raymond and Shearness Pools are virtually dry; there are some Egrets in the area but no one was able to pull out a Little Egret. For some of the birders I talked to, this was their second day at it. The water level at Little Creek was quite low, so the birds were very far away. I could make out only Avocets, SPs, Yellow Legs and Dowitchers. I tried to come in via the Pickering Beach access but that was not worth the walk in the hot, midday sun. Lots of birds along Port Mahon Rd-Lauging Gulls, Forsters Terns, Ruddy Turnstones, Dowitchers, Least and Semipalmated SPs, Sanderlings (some of these had the rufous remnants on their heads and breasts), Semipalmated Plovers and Willet. With the help of some PA birders, 2 Upland SP were seen on the grassy fields to the east of the Dover AFB.
