Fran
Jim Stasz, Greg Miller and I had a Black Tern on the boat trip over to Smith Island on June 26. We also
had Wilson's Storm Petrel and Northern Gannet.

Okay, we're back with another update. Added in the last few
weeks:

American Avocet Mark Hoffman Ridgely STP
Red-necked Phalarope Jim Stasz Pt. Lookout 8/5
Gull-billed Tern J. Stasz and Matt Hafner Vaughn WMA 7/2
Wood Stork Rep forwarded by W. Hershberger Frederick
Cty 8/2
Scissor-tailed FC Report forwarded by Gene Scarpulla
Assateague National Seashore 7/8
Possible Reddish Egret Sue Hamilton Smith Island 8/6

This gives us 311 of 403, or 77.2%, with an additional 5
possible new species for the year. The new species are not
counted in the percentage total. The Mississippi folks were at
75.5%, as of July 26. Way to go MD!

I think I may be missing some others. If anyone has seen the
following in MD since Jan 1, 1999, please let me know:

King Eider (to my knowledge not seen in OC this past Winter)
Yellow Rail
Wilson's Plover
Hudsonian Godwit
Black Tern
Both Crossbills (anyone in W. MD??????)
Evening Grosbeak (another one for our W. MD people)

Congrats to all!

Fran
