Hi all--

Barry called me at work today, he went down to Hunting Creek, Old Town etc.
to look for shorebirds and black terns.

At about 10 am he saw (instead) a White Pelican off Old Town!! He called me to
put it up on MDosprey but my UMDD access was down -- argghh! So now it is up,
and now you know.

It is an American White Pelican, and when he first saw it, it was almost
certainly in DC waters, but a friend who saw it sometime later thinks it had
drifted downstream to MD waters. Two state ticks in one!

Anyway, Rob Hilton told me that Fred Fallon also saw this bird at about
the same time, from the MD side. Barry actually got his best views from
Jones Point, Old Town being bad re the sun in the morning.

Hope it sticks around so that I can see it too...
