Phil
I am relieved. I was worried when I used my eye to estimate the bird was about 100 yards into Maryland's waters about 12:30 pm when I was there. Sorry I missed you. Now that you have the White Pelican locked on, beam it up.

Detoured on my back from a business meeting today to try for the pelican..

Sighted the bird from Jones Point (VA) from 12:55 pm to 1:05 pm.

I placed it in Maryland waters ... my notes on the location ...

Location:
·	Sighted from Jones Point, VA
·	Observing location approximately 100 feet north of Woodrow Wilson Bridge
·	GPS coordinates of observing location = N38 47.6, W077 02.3
·	Bearing: approximately 30 degrees counter-clockwise (to the
north)--sighted with GPS compass
·	Estimated to be 8/10 of distance to opposite (MD) shore
·	Past the far edge of the hydrilla bed
·	When heading back to MD on the WW Bridge measured .2 mile from passing
the bird to the MD shore
·	Per GPS placement of estimated location at the time of observation and
post analysis (that evening) of GPS and map data, this sighting was 400
feet into MD waters. [See attached map. (hardcopy)]
