Yes, the pelican was there today, seen from Jones Point by Jane and
Dennis Coskren between 6 and 7 PM. It was on the Maryland shore just
upriver from the Maryland side of the Wilson Bridge when we first
arrived. Then it flew to the vicinity of the snags by the hydrilla
patch, where it swam for a while. It got up again and flew upriver a
short way (just far enough for us to be sure that we had it in DC), then
returned to the Maryland shore again.
