On our way to Rehoboth on Friday August 20, Sherry and I stopped at Port Mahon Road to view the shorebirds. It was around 4 PM, and the tide was high. We saw Ruddy Turnstone-several Sanderling---about 20 Least Sandpiper---several Semipalmated Sandpiper---several Western Sandpiper---1 (right next to a semi, providing an excellent comparison) All these were seen at close range where the road first reaches the shore of Delaware Bay. Other notable birds seen there were Seaside Sparrow and Northern Harrier. Paul A. Zucker Potomac MD
