I went out for 30 minutes today at lunch at Jefferson Patterson Park in Calvert County, and the trees were crawling with birds! I had both orioles, both tanagers, Northern Parula, Blue-winged, and Nashville Warblers, Redstart, Least Flycatcher and Red-eyed Vireos. Red-eyed Vireos and American Redstarts were all over the place. Shorebirding here took a nosedive with the 4.5 inches of rain last week. The formerly dry farm ponds which had been hosting several Solitary Sandpipers are now deep enough for puddle ducks :( Good Birding!
