Jim Stasz and I birded the lower Eastern Shore today with hopes for birds blown in by the tropical storm. The best we were able to produce was a juvenile KING EIDER at the O.C. Inlet and an adult MARBLED GODWIT at the Fourth Street Flats seen from the mainland side. The eider seemed exceptionally early to us, and it may add another species to the competition with Mississippi. Also present wass a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER at West Ocean City Pond.
