Paul Pisano and I looked for the Royal Tern separately (around 7-7:30 pm
and 4-4:30 pm respectively) on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 14, and failed to
locate it. I saw around 6 Caspian Terns south of National Airport; I
believe Paul saw zero opposite Gravelly Point (which was my experience too).

However, Paul not only saw a Merlin flying toward him from the river, but
saw two Peregrine Falcons sparring, also over the river.

Who knows what birds if any Floyd will bring to our area?

Best,

Rob Hilton
