Howdy All!

Brisk winds and heavy rain at Hollywood this morning (9/16). Temp 69 F
and winds about 30mph out of the North. No bridges are closed yet due
to winds in S. MD, but flooding is already a big problem. There are at
least a dozen spots (mostly in St Marys) that have impassable roads due
to flooding. We are under a hurricane watch and have been upgraded to
a flood warning. Anyone traveling here should use extreme caution.
High tide at Pt Lookout will be 7:40pm with storm surge expected to be
3-5 ft above normal.

Birds this morning from the house:

Great Black-backed Gull (1) flying up the Patuxent River

Birds on the way to Patuxent Naval Air Station:

Starling (20) sitting on telephone wire
Mourning Dove (1) on wire also
Laughing Gull (1) flyover across Rt 235 heading North into the wind
with great difficulty

I won't be out of work until late afternoon (around 4pm). If I'm out,
I'll post results.

Stay safe,

Greg Miller
Hollywood, MD
