Hi, A brief note to say that there were almost no storm-related species at the Wilson Bridge over the Potomac River south of Washington DC early this morning. Lisa Shannon and I joined Sherman Suter under the bridge. The most interesting bird Sherman saw before we arrived: a small tern with the Forsters in Maryland waters south of the bridge. If my recollection serves me right, he may have said it was a Least Tern, a very uncommon visitor to the DC area. At one point I caught a glimpse of a small, long-winged white-looking bird, smaller than the Forster's Terns, flying downriver in the same area. The winds were maybe 20 mph out of the north quadrant. I'm off to check water bodies in Montgomery County, Md., and may not be at my computer/office until some time after lunch tomorrow. Best, Rob Hilton robert@csa.com Bethesda, Md.
