This morning (Monday, 9/20) around 7:30 a Pied-billed Grebe was swimming around on the waters of Leeds Creek in front of our house. This was my first record of a fall visit for this species, though spring time visits have occurred regularly. Also, last Saturday during a bike ride in Tunis Mills I heard a White-throated Sparrow in a roadside thicket (first of this season). Numbers of Canada Geese increase daily. A flock of 233 passed our yard this afternoon. Les Roslund Easton, MD
