To all you MD raptorphiles: Just a little update on the hawk watch season at Turkey Point in Cecil County. Since Sept. 1, we have counted 633 raptors, with a total of 59.5 hours of volunteer count coverage spread over 17 calendar days. The largest number of any one species has been 245 Sharpies. Bald Eagles are easily seen - 69 individuals so far. At least one is almost always in view and these are almost certainly not migrants - they are locals, hanging around the Point. If interested in more count details, please check our website at http://www.udel.edu/cecilbirds/hawkdata/99.html The Cecil Bird Club is sponsoring a bird walk at Turkey Point this coming Saturday, 9/25. Meet trip leader Leslie "Fishhawk" Fisher at the TP parking lot (south end of Rt. 272) at 7:30 am for some warblering on the way into the hawk watch site. The landbirding has been very good at TP lately, so we expect an interesting walk. For more information/directions, you can contact Leslie at <gonbrdn@dol.net> or me at <mww@udel.edu>. Leslie continues to have problems with her internet server, preventing her from posting to Osprey. But, she can answer e-mail. Marcia Watson-Whitmyre Cecil County
