About 25 Common Yellowthroats -- only 8 were males
3 Brown Thrashers,
2 Gr Catbirds
1 N. Mockingbird
2 Carolina Wren
1 House Wren
5 N. Cardinals
2 Am. Goldfinch
3 Blue Jays
1 Am. Crow
1 N. Parula
1 Chestnut-sided warbler
1 "yellowstart"
1 Ovenbird
1 PHILADELPHIA VIREO -- a state and county bird for me.
sounds of kinglets
I have read about people seeing Pa. Vireos for several years, and concluded
that I probably had been misidentifying them, so I have been carefully
examining vireos all month. A flash of a little bird with a gray cap -- oh,
darn.
Then, sitting on a bare branch, still, a bird - a vireo - with a black eye
line, gray cap, and a wash of yellow on the belly.....I think I got it!
