Today was slower yet more sparrow-y than yesterday.... The first nice bird was a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak which flew over around 7:15 am. Warblers: Black-throateds Green (1) and Blue (1 each male and female), Com. Yellowthroat (1), Yellow-rumped Warblers (at least 5), and maybe one Black-and-White Warbler. Vireo, spotted by Lisa "Vireo" Shannon: Red-eyed. Like yesterday's Blue-headed, she was the only person to see it. Thrush: possible Gray-cheeked....no buffy eye-ring, no rufous in the tail, olive back, nape, wings, and tail....the same as yesterday's Catharus? Better view than yesterday, including a marvelous view of the bird facing away from us with its head not turned and its tail at eye level....Like yesterday, found by Lisa Shannon. Sparrows: Scads of Chippings, one Field, White-throateds galore, and Dark-eyed Junco, plus a few Eastern Towhees. An Indigo Bunting was with the sparrows too. Fewer nuthatches of both species; some Gray Catbirds. Fewer Am. Robins than yesterday. Undoubtedly I forgot something, again. Only two other observers....where were y'all? It was a beautiful, cool morning. Best, Rob Rob (Robert) Hilton--*robert@csa.com*--Bethesda, Md. (very close to Washington, DC)
