Howdy All!

I think I'm the last person in Maryland to have
Red-breasted Nuthatch come to their feeders. Today in
the rain, the first little sprite visited my feeder.
That's #82 for the yardlist here in Hollywood this
year (since August). I've been lollygagging about
RBNU in the county, though.

This is also a county first for me this year bringing
my list for St Marys to 195 for the year. Not too bad
since mid-August. Well. That's a little misleading.
I did do May Count down here. Unless I do some really
great birding in Worceseter (177 this year), St Marys
should be my first county over 200 this year.

Other county totals > 100 this year:

Allegany	106
Baltimore	120
Charles 117
Dorchester	103
Garrett 125
Somerset	108

Marshall, if you're watching somewhere out there (when
you're not looking at Blue Mockingbird you lucky dog)
my Anne Arundel list is 10 for 1999. Bird #10 was a
Rock Dove on Friday, thanks to the sharp eyes of
George Jett. (thanks George) I think I've passed
through Anne Arundel more times this year than I have
species! Oh, well.

Maryland state list is at 281 for the year and unless
a miracle happens and birds fall out the sky, I won't
reach 300 this year.

The year's first Redpolls and Crossbills have showed
up in Minnesota (near Garrett County, I think), and
the first large push of Bohemian Waxwings has reached
the East in Labrador (pretty close to Cecil County?).
I might have to work some more on my Maryland
geography. <grin>

Good birding,

-Greg Miller
