A coworker and I had to go to Jug Bay this morning to take some sediment cores. While we were mucking around in the marsh, near the duck blind overlook, a Sora was whinnying not too far away. It had been in approximately the same location yesterday. There was also a small group (8 or 9) of Greater Yellowlegs feeding on the mudflats. At lunch, I walked down to a depression near the earth dam along the main road through Patterson Park in Calvert County. The place was crawling with sparrows. There were loads of White-throats, a couple of Song and Swamp Sparrows and a single Lincoln's Sparrow that gave excellent looks for several seconds before disappearing not to be seen again. The weather is just too nice. I wish that everyone could have the rest of the day off! Good Birding! Tyler Bell mailto:bell@acnatsci.org California, MD http://www.audubon.org/chapter/md/smas/
