Still some migrants moving through in Rock Creek Park, DC, although the
flood is now a trickle -- however, as usual, there were good birds -- the
best a fly-over EVENING GROSBEAK at the Maintenance Yard, calling vigorously,
as well as 1-2 flyover PURPLE FINCHES (but no Siskins!) Other migrants
included 2 BLACKPOLL WARBLERS, 5 Palm Warblers, 8-10 Myrtle Warblers, 4
Blue-headed Vireos, 8 Ruby-crowned and 5 Golden-crowned Kinglets, 4-5
Redbreasted Nuthatches, 4-5 Hermit Thrushes (one with an injured wing),
2 Winter Wrens, 1 Fox Sparrow, ~ 25 Song Sparrows, 35 White-throated Sparrows,
15 Chipping Sparrows and ~25 Juncos.

Most of the action was in the Maintenance Yard, the Ridge was rather quiet
except for the Nuthatches.

Also, yesterday Barry went back to Layhill and re-found the late Prairie
Warbler; he examined it closely and it seemed healthy but had remained behind
whereas most of the Palms it was with yesterday were gone. There were still
3-4 Purple Finches and a couple of Fox Sparrows about as well.
