The Baltimore Bird Club's (BBC) meeting at Cylburn Mansion, on Tuesday, November 2 will feature a presentation by Doug Forsell on the Status and Trends of Chesapeake Bay Waterfowl. Since moving to the Chesapeake Bay area in 1990, Doug has chaired the Waterfowl Workgroup in the Chesapeake Bay Program. His major activities in the Bay have involved interpretation of waterfowl population trends, identifying marshes for habitat restoration, surveys of waterbirds in offshore waters of the Bay, and assessing mortality of waterbirds in anchored gillnets. His presentation will cover all aspects of waterfowl in Chesapeake Bay including population trends, habitat requirements, survey waterbirds in offshore waters of the Bay, and problems facing waterfowl. The meeting, which is open to all, will begin with refreshments at 7:30, and the talk will begin at 8:00. The Mansion is located off Greenspring Avenue one block south of Northern Parkway (accessible from the I-83 Northern Parkway exit south of the Beltway) in Baltimore.
