Sunday morning, after the fog lifted, provided a wonderful walk at Lilypons. I meet-up with Mike Welch and we walked most of the ponds of the main complex (south of Monocacy Bottom Rd.). Highlights were: Near Monocacy bottom Rd there was a Lincoln's sparrow, near the house at a pond next to the entrance Rd we flushed an Am. bittern that flew around in a large circle giving us several minuets of viewing pleasure. Soon after the bitter we were surrounded by a wheeling flock of Am pipits, approximately 55 in all. The total for Rusty blackbirds was 145, they out numbered Red-wings almost 5:1. Our total of 48 species for the morning surprised us both. Wilbur Hershberger Fred. Co.
