Tyler and I were at the Sea Breeze from 6:20 to 7:30 a.m. today, with no success in relocating the Yellow-billed Loon (there were numerous loons out on the glass-calm water, but none with a yellow bill). Then we went with Greg Miller to Greenwell State Park around 7:40, because Greg had had a "heart-stopper" when he looked across the river toward Calvert County near the mouth of St. Leonard Creek and saw a loon with a yellow, upheld bill. (Hopefully Greg can post details about his sighting.) We were not able to relocate it (numbers of loons were down from 22 when he was looking to 4-6 when we were there). So, no one has refound it yet. Patty Craig is on her way to the Sea Breeze now, and will call if she sees anything. Jane Kostenko jkostenko@somd.lib.md.us California, Maryland Yesterday is history.
