Hi All: A very slow flight today, S/SSE breeze <5knots. To amuse myself I kept a list between 9:30- 11:00 and came up with 30 species seen/heard from the hawk watch. Raptors: RT-4, SS-3 and a pair of probably 3rd yr. Bald Eagles in transition plummage grappling in mid-air and uttering little eagle cries. ( And where were the spectators wanting to see BAEA when this was occuring?? ) Kevin Graff has really been wracking up the buteo numbers lately, way to go Kevin!! Nice look at EASTERN MEADOWLARK perched near the watch, a lovely GOLDENCROWNED KINGLET flitted in, crest aglow and flyover of 3 TUNDRA SWANS. Amazing numbers of BLUEBIRD- 300+, ROBINS by the hundreds and several flocks of 50+ CEDAR WAXWINGS. I did meet a couple from Chicago camping in the area, birders also, who told me of SANDHILL CRANE migrating over their house in Chicago. Leslie Fisher Cecil Co.
