MDOspreyers; This morning's birding walk at Pickering Creek Environmental Center produced: Yellow-bellied Sapsucker Fox Sparrow Brown Thrasher and many Swamp Sparrows, along with the other usuals. Such a beautiful morning also provided splendid views of the Delmarva Fox Squirrels on the grounds - some posing as close as 20 or 30 feet away. Pickering Creek includes enough fairly old-growth woods to support a nice colony of the Fox Squirrels. At home on Leeds Creek, the Purple Finch customer group has grown to two, and the Pine Siskins and Red-breasted Nuthatches continue to visit. Les Roslund Easton, MD
