I see none of the other observers have posted yet ... The bird was seen at fairly close range today by Paul O'Brien, Rick Blom, Mark and Amy Hoffman. I saw it a distance. Les Eastman may (?) have seen it at a greater distance, in failing light. The location in on the Susquehanna River, above Cononwingo Dam about 1-1/2 miles below the PA line. DeLorme Atlas A-3, map page 76. Cecil and Harford Counties. Directions: Cross Conowingo Dam on US 1 heading North. Left on US 222 Left on Pilot Town Road Left on Bald Friar Rd (turns to dirt and gets rough). Park at end of the road, by the railroad tracks. (LOCK YOUR CAR -- various fisherman around !!!) Walk up river, along the tracks (to your right) about 1/4 mile to the point where the tracks bend back to the right. At this point you are looking across the river towards Broad Creek. The bird was in this area when I saw it. I'll leave any details of the bird to those who had better looks than I did. This is a reviewable bird. Notes / photos are encouraged. Good luck.
