Hi,

While working downstair, one of the staff told me to id's a bird in
the box that someone found on corner of Penn and Pratt Street somewhere
near downtown. Some of the staffs at the clinic don't know much about
id's any birds that are injured. As I looked in the box, i was
surprised, it was an AM. WOODCOCK. Someone found this bird dazed and was
bleeding from the head, left eye, and part of beak. It might have been
hit by a car on it left side or hitting a window on one of the highrise
buildings or even attacked by a Peregrine Falcon. It was in fair to
stable condition but improved well.
Last time I saw a woodcock was back in '93 at the Baltimore Zoo
under a bushes at the new African Watering Hole.

Remember, if you see any injured birds or other wildlife, sent them in
to Fallston Vet Clinic on Belair Rd. This is a major bird hospital for
wild and captive birds and other wildlife too. This clinic also used for
anybody's pets too. Or call the clinic at 410 877-1727. Many people
brought in wildlife from PA, DEL, and across MD.
