Andy Rabin "claimed" to have seen a snow bunting flying in a fairly distant flock of horned larks at Oland Road this a.m. (Roger Stone and I didn't want to believe him until we saw it ourselves.) A few minutes later, both Andy and I shared the same claim, as another flashed by in (another?) lark flock. Unfortunately, they did not repeat the performance during our stay. However, we soon enjoyed close looks at horned larks and water pipits bobbing in and out of the corn stubble. An interesting female blue-winged teal(we didn't see it long enough to check its potential cinnamonality) swam in the company of a mallard pair at Lilypons, and two herring gulls and one greater yellowlegs added a splash of water bird interest.
