Just a short note for sparrow enthusiasts on birds from
two of my regular areas:
Lake Needwood Park, by the dam and the bike-path trail-
head:
   Eastern Towhee (many)
   Song Sparrow (several)
   Chipping Sparrow (1)
   White-throated Sparrows (many)
   Dark-eyed Junco (many)

Also, a lot of Northern Flickers.

At Montgomery Co. Agricultural History Farm Park:
 Along stream from entrance:
   White-throated Sparrow (lots)
Fox Sparrow (a sizeable flock, singing)
   Dark-eyed Junco (many)
In the big field across the stream (increasingly hard
to cross due to the beaver's work!)
Lots of cheeping in the field grass, with one
Savannah Sparrow popping up to allow identification.
Also in the stream edge vegetation: A Winter wren.

                         Jim

Bow-hunters are in the woods now, so try to resemble a
human being when you are out and about.
