Hi folks, I saw the shrike today. It got chased off by a crow after only about 45 viewing seconds - just enough time to stop the car, reach in back for the camera, point, and curse loudly. I believe it was a Loggerhead, as Wilbur says. I found the several hundred Horned Larks, along with only 2 Pipits south of the corner of Cap Stine Road and South something-or-other road. Didn't see any Snow Buntings or Longspurs. Are they all mixed together? Or did the weather change blow away my lifebird? I was surprised at the number of GB Herons at Lily Pons - at least 10, and I only scouted about 15 of the ponds. Good birding, Charlie ===== ****************************** Charlie Muise, Naturalist Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Maryland, USA cmmbirds@yahoo.com "Leave the gun; take the cannoli" ****************************** __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
