For what it's worth there was a report of a Black Guillemot from Lake
Ontelaunee, Pa., just north of Reading. It was spotted around 3 pm and was
last seen circling high and heading _southwest_ as the sun was setting.

Who knows where it was heading or where it is now. This lake hosted a
Pacific-type Loon a few days earlier....

In 1991 after a severe late October/November storm, a young male King Eider
showed up in the middle of the week at two farm ponds in northern
Montgomery County, Md (north of Washington, DC, a ways). It stayed for a
few days, as I recall. A few years later, after a strong November front, a
Black-legged Kittiwake was noted flying down the Potomac River west of
Washington, DC.
