This is the Conowingo Dam report for Friday, December 3, 1999. Observation was by Rick Blom from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Light clouds, warm, light breeze. There was full gneration all day for the third day in a row. Gull season is well and truely underway at the dam. The count today: Bonaparte's Gull 300 Laughing Gull 1 Ring-billed Gull 8,500 Herring Gull 200 Lesser Black-backed Gull 2 (adults) Great Black-backed Gull 150 Double-crested Cormorant 12 Bald Eagle 25+ (who cares) A quick stop in the afternoon at Bald Friar Road to check on the Pacific Loon resulted in precisely bupkus. 1 Ring-billed Gull. No waterfowl, no gulls or terns, no nothing. If you can't annoy someone, there is little point in writing. -- Kingsley Amis Rick Blom rblom@blazie.com 4318 Cowan Place Belcamp, Maryland 21017 (410)575-6086
