Checked the = impoundments and then made a large loop-east on Hunting Quarter Rd to = the middle parking lot, through the fields to the towpath, west to the = hiker-biker and then north again to the impoundments. Not a lot of = birds around, but saw 13 Purple Finches (all brown plumage), 6 Winter = Wrens, 2 Hermit Thrushes, and finally decent numbers of Cedar Waxwings = (132). More like spring than almost winter- heard tree frogs and spring = peepers and saw a small red dragonfly. Afterwards drove the roads between Edward's Ferry and White's = Ferry looking for the shrike but didn't find it. Just a historical = note-in 1972 and 1973 I found nesting Loggerhead Shrikes near the = intersection of Elmer School and River Roads, near the area where one = was seen recently. ------=_NextPart_000_0013_01BF3F53.372B8E20 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD W3 HTML//EN">
