Hi Folks, The Croom Station pond had about 20 Gadwall today - most I've ever seen there. Also had 3 Pintail, which I've only seen there about 6-8 times. Then Mallards, Green-winged Teal, and one Wigeon. Merkle had a hand full of Meadowlarks, at least 100 Killdeer; also Mallards, Wigeon, Gadwall, Teal. The number of White-crowned Sparrows there continues to be lower than I've seen in the past. High count of imatures today was just 4, and I only saw one adult all day, for a grand total of 5 birds. I really think the HOSP's are making the feeders less desirable (for the sparrows, not for me!) The large raft of Scaup continue behind Chaney's. Have a good day.
