Rainy days can sometimes put interesting birds on inland reservoirs. Today's bonanza at Piney Run was loons and gulls. Most ducks have pulled out since the park has opened to boats and the big fishing tournament of last weekend. The level of the lake is down a little, producing some mud flats but there were no shorebirds yet.
