The main goal was to enjoy cherry blossoms and spring-like weather, but also saw a few interesting birds on a lunchtime foray to the Tidal Basin with Ben Jesup and his family.

Perhaps the best was a Winter Wren, trying its best to stay hidden in some ivy near the FDR Memorial. Nearby, we also had earlier seen and heard a Brown Thrasher on top of a fence but somewhat hidden in a tall hedge. Finally, I saw a Caspian Tern winging its way over the Tidal Basin--I believe it's my first of the year.

A great day to be outside, if only for a little while!
