Fish Crows are known to nest in Howard County, so apparently they don't
all head for the coast. Maybe you'll find some nesting at little
Bennett.
The "knee-deep" sounds to me more like some kind of frog than bird.
Some frog songs are remarkably bird-like in timbre.
Not a clue about the 8-10 single notes followed by a trill.
