Blue Mash Nature Trail, Montgomery County, 10 Apr 04, 0730-1230

This morning, Rick Sussman, Mike Moffet and I birded the entire length of
the Blue Mash Trail.  Today's hike netted 12 additions to my Blue Mash list,
which now totals 71 species begining with a Northern Harrier recorded on 8
Feb 04.  Todays's new birds were: Red-shouldered Hawk, American Kestrel,
Great Horned Owl, Barn Swallow, Golden- & Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Hermit
Thrush, Chipping & Savannah Sparrow, Eastern Meadowlark, Rusty Blackbird
(many), and House Finch.  Rick missed his target of Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
and I of Vesper Sparrow.  Rick, however, was content to add a number of
birds to his new binocular list.
