I recently discovered that a groundhog has taken up residence under our front porch. I noticed a hole there in the last month or so and today I saw him for the first time. This seems strange since I live in a townhouse in Columbia, not very close to any major wooded area. But I guess, like most animals, they are being squeezed out of their natural habitat.
Does anyone on the list have any experience with this problem? I don't want to hurt or disturb him, but I also don't want him (or her) to do any permanent damage to the foundation of the house. I guess it could be worse - it could be a skunk!
Thanks,
Jenny McClintock
