Finally, the warblers have come to Knoxville (Rt 340 / 67 area intersection
for those who don't know).  Today brought palm, yellow rumped and black-
throat greens to any place on the mtn whereas before today - not a one.
Also, blue headed vireos, more hermit thrush and towees.  All the other
usual suspects as previously mentioned.  Finally...i was wondering if in
the year of the locust we'd be passed by.  I can now sleep...

Oh, and I didn't see it but a birder on the C&O Canal trail west from Sandy
Hook (west of the road turn uphill) reported a bald eagle.  I did see
several Canada Geese, 3 Dbl. Br. Cormorants, kingfisher, E. Kingbird, LA
Waterthrush, and what looked like Gnatcatchers.  I had to turn back before
the large flat area about 1.5 miles west of where the Harpers Ferry Rd
turns north from the river, but looked liek some type of gull or tern out
over the flatwater section - couldn't get a good look at them but any
guesses out there of what that might be?
