We finally moved to Easton and have enjoyed listening to the birds as we unpack. The highlighted list includes PILEATED, DOWNY, HAIRY, FLICKER and RED-BELLIED WOODPECKERS, OVENBIRD, WOOD THRUSH, WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, GOLDFINCHES, WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH and PINE WARBLER. Last night we were sitting on the front porch and watched a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER pick up corn from the pile of ear corn Bill put out for the deer. The bird flew off and returned repeatedly. Bill intends to follow it tonight as the hole we spotted one at is about 100 ft away from the corn.
