This morning I went to Pt. Lookout despite the wind. Very surprising was the
pair of Pileated Woodpeckers near the lighthouse. Also heard numerous Soras at
the pond near the point, a state bird for me. One Clapper Rail responded to
the rail CD played from my SUV, the Soras also responded. As the road has not
be repaired I was playing it from the picnic area parking lot. One E. Kingbird
was at the picnic area & one White-eyed Vireo was found near the fort. On
Cornfield Harbor Road I stopped to admire the peach trees which are just coming
into bloom & heard a Bobwhite calling.

Beautiful morning,
Sigrid Stiles
