Happy Earthday To All!

Today at work (Edgewood Area of APG) I checked the ephemeral pond in the
horse pasture again and the following shorebirds were present: Greater
Yellowlegs (1), Killdeer (1), Solitary Sandpiper (2).

The Killdeer was displaying the faux injured wing which indicates to me
that there may be an active nest nearby. The two Solitary Sandpipers seem
to be the same two that have been here for over a week. Nirther are in
alternate plumage yet and they don't seem to get along with eachother very
well (I guess that is why they call them solitary?). Funny though, I have
met a few "Solitary Humas" that display similar behavior...

Well enjoy the spring. I'll think of you all when I am watching the
Anhingas, Wood Storks, and Spoonbills in the everglades tommorrow!

Good Birding,
