This morning I took a two-hour (7:30-9:30) bird walk along the Patapsco River in the Hollofield section of PVSP. There was a lot of activity and I had 4 firsts of the year, but alas no "lifers."

First of the year for me:
1-LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH (1) - I watched him sing for a good while
NORTHERN PARULA (10-15)- I got a good look at two of them (one in the bright sunlight, what a beautiful boy -- his yellow throat and lower bill were so bright). But I must have heard one singing about every 50 feet (unless the same one was following me!)
BLACK & WHITE WARBLER (2) - Cute little bird "zebras" dancing up and down the trunk of the tree.
WOOD THRUSH (1) - Singing his incredible song (my favorite bird to hear)

Also:
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER (50+) right in my face -- these adorable little acrobats seem to have no fear!
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER (1-2) singing
BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER (5)
CAROLINA CHICKADEE (4)
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW (6-8)
NORTHERN CARDINAL (lots!)
CANADA GOOSE (5)
BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD (10)
BELTED KINGFISHER (2)
AMERICAN CROW (1)
BLACK VULTURE (1)
BLUE-JAY (1)
