If you love birds or coffee, you won't want to miss the next Baltimore bird
Club program at Sherwood House.

Lecture: "Conservation, Coffee and Migratory Birds"
by Russel Greenberg of the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center.

May 4, 2004, Tuesday Evening, 7:30 - 9:00 PM
Sherwood House, Cromwell Valley Park

Have you heard about "certified" shade-grown coffee? Coffee farms in Central
in South America provide winter habitat for birds that breed in North
America.

To protect this habitat while coffee farming techniques change, the
Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center has taken the lead by studying the birds,
the coffee
and the trees -- and by setting the criteria for what should qualify as
"shade-grown" coffee.

The meeting, which will be at Sherwood House, begins with refreshments at
7:15 p.m., and the talk should begin at 8:00 p.m.
Everyone is welcome.
Please join us.

Directions to Sherwood House.

From the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) take Exit 29A Cromwell Bridge Road.
Turn east (away from the city) onto Cromwell Bridge Road. In one mile,
turn left at the sign "The Sherwood House" (which is BEFORE the sign
for "Willow Grove Farm"). Drive down the long driveway, across the
bridge, bear to the right up the hill and follow the one way signs to
the stone house at the top of the hill. Park in the lot next to the
house and enter the house under the arch over the driveway.

Elliot

What better way to start the day than sipping a fresh cup of organic, shade
grown, fair traded java while watching the birds come to your feeder.
