Talbot Co Bird Club trip to Wye Island

Hi all On Sun april 25 ,04     Danny poet  led a field trip to Wye Island
in  Queen Annes  Co  for the talbot Co bird club  a chapter of MOS.    We
had a nice turn out and a nice day  .we were able to locate 60 species of
birds  .     white tailed Deer  ,  squirrels , and a Red fox  also seen .
bird highlights      ,   Orchard Oriole  first of the year for many of us, 6
migrating Common Loons, Green Heron,  Mute swan building a Nest,  wood Duck
, Osprey, Bald Eagles , Turkey and Black Vultures , Red Tailed Hawk, Greater
Yellow Leggs , Least Sandpiper ,Forster's Tern , Red Bellied Woodpecker,
Flicker were seen .  NO RED HEADED WOODPECKER  though it was reported to
have been seen on Sat. Great creasted  Flycatcher , Kingbirds , catbirds,
Wood  Thrush,[ Scarlet Tanger heard only ] Indigo Bunting also  there.
several  folks were  amazed to veiw the 275  years old  American Holly tree,
some lower limbs as  large as  a normal   mature holly.          Happy
