A lunchtime stroll on the Mall turned into afternoon, with good variety,
despite the cool weather. noteworthy were:

green heron
mallard (notable for one following me around quacking loudly for handouts
as I tried to be inconspicuous looking for warblers in bushes!)
least sandp. (4)
e. kingbird
n. r-w swallow (2)
fish crow (several; subject to Felley caveat about months safely
distinguishable from am. crow)
r.-c. kinglet
wood thrush
swainson's thrush
yellow-rumbed w. (several)
yellow w.
common yellowthroat
r-w blackbird (2)
r-b grosbeak (2)

the openness of the Mall and slow-leafing-out makes for some views.
