Hello all, A couple of things.

One is, My posting yesterday. Court House Point.
I wrote,
Some of the highlights are,
Least Sandpiper - 8
Western Sandpiper-14
Semipalmated Sandpiper - 3.

My numbers were mixed up. Flip flopped if you will. I had, 14 Least Sandpipers, 3 Semipalmated, and 8 Westerns.
Which brings me too my second thing. I do identify peep by basic rules I have known for years from my past experiences, and one of the identification marks I have used for Westerns is the reddish color in the wing, and the top of the head. Black legs and what I saw as a thinner, longer down curved bill compared to the semi and least's, that were there. The size difference was noticeable compared to the Least Sandpiper's, especially when they came up out of the water and stood next to the Least's.

This is what I saw, but due to the lack of Westerns on the East Coast in the Spring and Bob kindly pointing out that something doesn't seem right. I do take back my report of Western Sandpiper in Cecil Co. I will be studying peep very closely over the next season and hope to be able to photograph lots of peep for me to examine and compare. I do know peep can be very difficult to identify and not every bird can be. But I must admit I thought I had them. Sorry.

Happy Birding.
