There were plenty of migrants and breeders around during an early
lunchtime walk today:
   DC Veteran's Memorial
Warblers:
  Yellow-rumped Warber (several)
  Blackpoll (several)
  Chestnut-sided Warbler (1)
  American Redstart (a few)
Other notable birds
   Baltimore Oriole (1)
   Scarlet Tanager (1)

   Constitution Gardens
Warblers
  Blackpoll (a few)
  Chestnut-sided Warbler (several)
  American Redstart (a few)
Wilson's Warbler (1 - by the rest room between the Vietnam
         Memorial and the pond)
  Black-throated Blue Warbler (1)
  Yellow Warbler (1)
  Common Yellowthroat (2)
  Magnolia Warbler (1)
Others
   (2) male Baltimore Orioles chasing each other
         in territorial fashion
   Swainson's Thrush (1)

A few notes:
Northern Rough-winged and Barn Swallows were
actively foraging everywhere, I suspect because they
are feeding babies in their nests around the Tidal Basin.
The White-throated Sparrows seem to have left.
In the Tidal Basin, the blueback herring are spawning
along the seawall, and crowds of bluegill and white perch
are picking the eggs out of the crevices.
At the DC Veteran's Memorial, lots of 'fat-pencil'-sized
holes have appeared, suggesting cicadas soon!
