The bird was first seen by Mike Lynch, park service gardener, at 7:30 this
am. Mike was trimming hedges and saw the bird at his old perch in the flowering
crabtree near the visitor's center where it nested last year.

During the day, an Eastern Kingbird was seen with the Western in the same
tree, suggesting a possible bond.
