Lynette,

It depends on which Lady's Slipper you found but I am assuming Pink.
However, I belive that the Pink L.S. bloom earlier due to the plants growth
habit of only two leaves instead of 4-5 on the Yellow. I have seem them
(pink) in bloom as early as May 1st and I suspect a day or two before that
depending on the season's climate is not out of the question. Many pinks
were in bloom almost 2 weeks ago on the eastern shore. Yellow is more
towards the middle of the month. Many factors will affect actual blooming
dates including exposure to the sun, both slope direction and shade or
obstructions. Either could be in bloom at this point.

Hope this helps,
