This morning, as I was walking along Light Street near the inner harbor on my way to work, when I noticed a bright beautiful, but definitely dead, male Yellowthroat right on the sidewalk out front of the Hyatt Hotel. What a sad way to start the morning! They are just about my favorite bird!
Anyway, I was wondering . . . there aren't any parks right there (closest about 5 blocks away) and I don't usually see Yellowthroats around the city streets. I wonder what he was doing there. Was he lost? I assume he met his demise at someone's front fender. Bad day for him and sad morning for me.
